Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 31, 2026  ·  SlideOut: Photo Cleanup

The short version: We only collect your email to notify you when we launch. Your photos never leave your device. We don't sell your data. Ever.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how SlideOut ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our pre-launch website at slideout.app (the "Site") and join our early-access waitlist. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information you voluntarily provide: • Email address — submitted via the waitlist form so we can notify you when SlideOut launches on the App Store. We also automatically receive standard server-log data when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and the date/time of your visit. This data is used solely for security monitoring and aggregate analytics and is never linked to your email address.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your email address exclusively to: • Send you a one-time launch notification when SlideOut becomes available on the App Store. • Occasionally share important pre-launch updates (e.g., beta invitations) if you have opted in. We will never use your email for unrelated marketing, and we will never sell, rent, or trade it to any third party.

3. On-Device Processing — What We Do NOT See

The SlideOut iOS application (once released) performs all photo and video analysis entirely on your device using Apple's on-device frameworks. No photos, videos, thumbnails, metadata, or file names are ever uploaded to our servers or any third-party server. We have no technical ability to access your media library. This privacy-by-design architecture is a core product commitment, not merely a policy choice.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our Site uses minimal, privacy-respecting analytics (self-hosted Umami) to understand aggregate visitor behaviour — for example, how many people visit the page and which country they are from. This analytics tool does not use cookies, does not fingerprint individual users, and does not share data with advertising networks. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any behavioural advertising trackers.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, share, or disclose your personal information to third parties except in the following limited circumstances: • Service providers: We use reputable infrastructure providers (hosting, database) who process data solely on our behalf under strict data-processing agreements. • Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public. All service providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your email address until: • You request deletion (see "Your Rights & Choices" below), or • 24 months have elapsed since you joined the waitlist without a product launch, whichever comes first. Server log data is retained for a maximum of 90 days and then automatically purged.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted database storage at rest, and access controls that limit who on our team can view waitlist data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; however, we take reasonable precautions to protect your data.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. • Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate data. • Deletion — Request that we delete your email address from our waitlist at any time. • Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format. • Objection / Restriction — Object to or restrict certain processing activities. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days. There is no fee for making a request.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Site and app are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted their email address to our waitlist, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you are accessing the Site from outside the United States — including from the European Union, United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws — please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US. By submitting your email, you consent to this transfer. We apply appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To submit a CCPA request, contact us at [email protected].

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify waitlist members by email. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

13. Contact Us

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy, please contact us at [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Inquiry". We aim to respond to all privacy-related inquiries within 5 business days.
